CHICAGO WHITE SOX BASEBALL, OLD RECORD STORES, AND KETTERING OHIO !
What a great time we had last night, on our night off . We were guests of our friend Rich who took us to see the Chicago White Sox against the New York Yankees. We got to meet the general manager of the WORLD CHAMPION White Sox , Kenny Williams . Who put this awesome team together . (Warning you are entering baseball nerd territory which, I am ,so watch out). It was a fun game the still bad ass Randy Johnson , the big unit, was on the mound and he had a no-no going till the7th . The Sox then had the "ducks on the pond" but only managed two runs ...And ,former Giant A.J. Piernitzski, popped up very weakly ...He isnt popular with the Giant fans after one season there . The Yanks finally won but not after a great rally that fell one run short .....Oh and there were Hot dogs .
I was in Chi for three days so I called my buddy Jimmy Pugh ,who plays for Robert Cray , and who is a chicago native , what up ....he told me to go to the Jazz Record Mart on Wabash . He said he had been buying records there since he was a kid . I caught Jimmy stateside because he is on a hiatus ,with Cray, from the worldwide Eric Clapton tour ..In fact a couple of weeks ago Jimmy called me from Vienna on his new Skipe phone , he was so proud. Anywho i went to that record store and it's Blues section was astounding . If you are ever in Chicago check it out . it is the last of a breed .
I have to give a special shout out to Kettering Ohio ,which we played on Tuesday ,which was plopped down right in the middle of our House of blues run . It was a surprisingly great partying audience and the venue sounded great and it was one of the best shows of the tour ...so it just goes to show you that you never know where the great shows will pop up ...
