NO INDIANS, NO REGIS, AND NO BOWIE
Damn the luck. the Cleveland Indians are on the road when I am in town. Well i guess it is fitting because last year when we pulled into Cleveland early in the morning ,i just went to my room and went back to sleep . When i woke up I went on the daily forage for Starbucks , when I bump into Rafael he always hips me to the nearest starbucks, So I am walking back to my room and BAM there is Jacobs field right in front of me . I check the papers , and then went and caught about 6 innings before sound check. And I got to see Coco Crisp play that day too... what a great name.....bonus. You folks have been very helpful on things to do in Cleveland on my days off.
After Cleveland ,Isaak and I are going to New York because he is going to co-host Regis and Kelly Live on thursday, so be sure and tune In. I dont know if I am going to be on or not ..If they decide to do a song I just might make an appearance. We did a Regis and Kathy Lee a few years back and when Chris introduced me to Regis he said "ALWAYS BRING THE DRUMMER!"...In another related story . We did the Rosie O'Donnell show one time and by chance rosie and I happened to be standing waiting for the elevator. And she turned to me and said " Your Chris' drumma' arent you ?" And I said Yes . And she said well I am a drumma' to ( that is a new york accent ,not a typo) She went onto tell me she had a vintage Slingerland drum set and I told her I was impressed . Then she got off of the elevator and walked straight out of my life and out of my heart.
WAIT A MINUTE....I thought I was writing a romance novel there for a second .
Anywho.....later that night. After Regis that is ....We play the world famous Beacon theater In Manhattan....man i do love playing that place . We have played there several times , but not lately . The last time we played there was with Lisa Marie Presley. I remember i was getting dressed after the show and (mind you the dressing rooms are tiny because it is an old,old theater) and I look up and David Bowie is standing there looking confused . So I figured he was looking for Lisa Marie not me . And i told him he needed to go up one more flight of stairs. See I am ever helpful.........I asked one of her band memebers ,later, what he said to her and they said he told her to quit reading the lyrics off of a music stand . And I said , hell I could have told her that ....i am carney from way back !!!
Off to Cleveland but first a show in Niagra falls .....
