ST. SULPICE,THE MOULIN ROUGE,TONS OF RADIO AND STAR ACADEMY

So last time we talked I was beggining a day off....We had the whole day off in Paris and it was like , 68 degrees and sunny. We went over to the St. Germain area and just looked in shops and stuff . Then I looked at the map and I realized we were by the St. Sulpice church. Now I am not a Di Vinci code guy but I am a history guy , as you know. And I am in to the Knights of Templar ,anywho ....dont want to scare you . St. Sulpice is the church in the Di Vinci code and we were like 2 blocks away so we went and took a look . Man It is AWESOME. It may actually be prettier in the inside than Norte Dame. It has this statue of the Madonna coming out of the clouds and the clouds are like red marble . Pretty stunning stuff. We walked around Paris for 10 hours then called it . We had dinner later at this place that looks at the Eiffel Tower. While we were in the restroom at the restaurant this guy comes up from Boston and he recognises us . We get to talking and he says , hey I am with a bunch of people from Boston and could you come up and make a big scene like we are old friends because these people are big fans of the TV show . So Chris and I run up to their table and go Hey Pete...were you been what are you doing in Paris We havent seen you since Boston and the people at his table have there jaws on the floor , Pretty funny.
They now have these chase lights on the Eiffel Tower that at 10 past the hour they turn on and all these crazy lights go up and down and all around the Eiffel Tower . They are like the best white trash christmas lights ever !
The next day we did a TV show from the Moulin Rouge for christ sakes. Just think the backstage sandwich meats are left over from Toulouse Letrec! The show had a strange format . There were all these people sitting around in a circle talking politics . At least that is what they told me . No one was smiling so it was probably true . Isaak finally goes out and I have no idea what the concept of the show is supposed to be and believe you me We have done a lot of TV. Well they ask Chris a bunch of questions in French and the interpreter is speaking in his ear . And they keep asking him to do a French song even though he has told them he doesnt know one! Then Chris just yells out 'KENNEY'!!!! AND I AM BACKSTAGE AND I THINK WHAT THE F#CK.....So I run out and we do a couple of songs and that was that ....That is TV in another country for you . Next we did like 4 radio shows . One of them lasted for an hour and Isaak and I sang a hell of a lot of songs so I hope the French enjoyed that, I know we did . And for some reason Isaak and I have started doing this Muddy Waters song , on these radios shows, and it sounds pretty good , if I say so myself. After that , and believe me I am giving you the abreviated version of this , We went to rehearse the Star Academy. now they say it is like American Idol but when I saw it the other night it was more reality show . So we get over to the show to rehearse for the following night which is , tonight actually. And it is one of the biggest TV sets I have ever seen MASSIVE. Now there is much talk if I am gooing to play drums or the regular guy and so they decide I am going to do it . We are going to play Blue Hotel, which was a hit here in France, Isaak is going to sing it with this girl singer who is a contestant. We run the song about 4 times with this huge band and they are great . but the percussion player keeps putting chimes in the song. I dont know what it is with percussion players they just HAVE to put the chimes in . We straighten that out ...... that percussion player sure plays a mean tambourine ,though....So now i am just waiting around till we tape Star Academy.
I just took a walk down the Champs de Elysses to the Monoprix, which is a store ..Now I asked the dude at the front desk where I could get some water for the room and he said the Monoprix. OK so I am walking down the Champs looking for a grocery store called the Monoprix.Nothing. ...I ask ...keep going... nothing , keep waking...Aw there it is but it has womens clothes not groceries. Now this doesnt deter me because earlier in the day we went to a French hardware store that was in the basement of a Macy's like store. So I figure , hey why not a grocery store uner a womens clothing store and lo and behold there was the grocery store ......Lime Perrier in a can ...oh boy!!!!
We leave tommorow and head out to Australia real soon !
TALK TO YOU SOON
