FAN COERCION,HORSE RACING,CRICKET,YOU TUBE,AND HOLY SMOKES

It has been awhile since my last post. A fan at the signing on thursday shamed me into doing a new blog . Well it has been all about the Melbourne Cup horse race . It goes on for a week here and we have been in it with both feet . We actually performed on the "mounting area" ,I swear that is what they call it ,doing one song and the next day it was on youtube ! Youtube is a fantastic time waister. So about the race. there like over 160,000 people at this thing . All the women have these astounding, elaborate hats on . Quite beautiful really . And the state of Victoria ,where Melbourne is , has a holiday for it . There are parades , and all manner of fol de rol.....We also played three songs for the ladies luncheon , again with the fancy hats and 2 thousand women in a ballroom. Oh yeah I forgot at every event there are bottles and bottles of champaine consumed. These demur ladies rushed the stage and started the most well groomed mosh pit I have ever witnessed. Oh yeah, so after the race you go to the "markee" parties . That is where all of these companies have tents with bars in them such as Lexus, Moet Chandon,Emirates,and our pormoter Andrew Mc Manus has a Markee and that is where we are all hanging out . There press everywhere and most of the celebs are Australian so I dont know who they are . Apparantly I was introduced to the worlds best Cricketteer. I do like to watch Crickett on the Telly here . I dont fully understand it but you have to love any sport where Pakistan is a power ! So back to those hats . Now these hats are enormous and very elaborate. And I got to see first rate how stupid Americans can be . I hate to admit it because I am very pro American. I am in the lobby of my hotel and this woman walks in with a beautifl hat on . And this older American touches the feathers in this Aussie woman hat and says "Do you make these yourselves" And the woman looks at him with daggers in her eyes . I totally cringed. Because it was obvious to everyone but this jackass, that she paid a lot of money to have this hat made by a Milner......Oh here is another one .when we were in London last month I was in an elevator with a group of Americans and when one asked the other how he liked London he actually said "HOLY SMOKES" I looked at him and said "did you just say Holy smokes" what year is it ,like1952?
I have to give a shout out .......
The crew and I went out last night to have Indian food. Since Indian food in California is pretty much crap it is always a pleasure to go for it on the road. Anywho the crew had found this place earlier in the week and let me tell you it is as good as it gets it is called Nirankar on queen street . If you are in the area go. So I like it spicy but it was something to watch Omar and Tim eat these chili peppers. I popped a medium sized ring of the pepper in my mouth and it actually singed my gums it was so hot . So that was it I was out . So Omar and Tim are like throwing handfulls of the things in there food . Astonishing. Omar says " the chef has no right making food this good !" Omar is my drum tech and plays the part of "MIL Mascaras" the Mexican Wrestler onstage who introduces me in Spanish . I thought I would mention it because I get asked about the Mexican wrestler dude in the show . It is my favorite part of the show . sometimes what "Mil Mascaras" says is less than nice. He is nice to me however. Thank God .....He says of me ...Dressed in black, hailing form Texas ,Kenney "El Catrine" Johnson. That means sharp dresser ...That was Omar's nickname for me all ready . If you hadnt figured it out . Omar is from Mexico . And seeing the faces of people when the Mexican wrestler comes on stage is priceless. It is all I can do not to laugh .....Attencion Australianos......
