OYSTER STEW, CHRIS AND JOHNNIE ON THE AWNING, AND WHERE THE HELL DID I PUT CONGRESS STREET !
Man..... when you have been touring as long as I have you start going in circles. I went down stairs at my usual noon and I thought " I have been in this hotel before but it was a meridien "frenchy" place. Sure enough the bell dude confirmed my suspicions. So for a total walk down memory lane I went down to Faneuil hall to get some Breakfast/lunch whatever . Now I know it is touristy but It is fun to people watch down there. So I go to this seafood joint and ,man, I am in luck they have oyster stew . I have been on a total oyster stew run . At the Borgata in AC I had oyster stew every morning at that raw bar. About Oyster stew. I bet there isnt a restaurant in all of California that has oyster stew on the menu. But on the east coast ,different story . The oyster stew at this joint was amazing . So we are off to a good start.
So I walk over to Washington street because it has a lot of shops . and I walk by Filenes's department store . I get recognized by some guy that says he enjoys the blogs. Oh by the way i really appreciate all the positive feedback I get for this blog . Because after all i am just blathering on . Anywho this guy wants to know what I am doing in the bargain basement of Filene's. I tell him that I just bought a brand name belt for like 16 bucks and any decent belt cost 50 bucks which is a rip off considering it is just a leather slab. And dont get me going ..shaving razor blades are another rip off . What , it costs like a penny to make them and they cost 18 bucks for like, 2 of them .....So I leave Filene's and I have a total flashback. Around 1993 we had my good buddy Johnnie Reno playing in the band and we did a show right in the middle of Winter street which is between Macy's and Filene's. Now Filene's has been there since the dead sea was sick and it has those ancient awnings that stick out about 6 feet. So we are down on the stage playing our hearts out and Isaak and Johnnie leave the stage and run up onto that awning on Filene's and I am having trouble playing because I am laughing my ass off at those 2 guys . I really miss Johnny there was never a dull moment when he was around . Most of the stories I cant tell in a family blog.
Hey and right across the street a store is selling Dickies shirts so i go and grab a cool red and black one . Let's see if Hershel makes fun of it the way he made fun of my new orange suede shoes I got in Tyson's corner mall . Damn that mall was huge . I actually went into the Apple store there and didnt buy anything !!!!
The gods be praised.....Hershala said that my orange shoes set off the red in my eyes. He is ever thoughtful. Okay so as I was daydreaming about days gone by I look up and ,uh oh, I am lost . I didnt put Congress Street where I thought I did. I never get lost so I didnt get a map and I left my cell to charge up...whoops....I finally found it and the hotel and Anna Nalik ,the gal opening the show tonight, has her bus right in front . She has a very cool band . Not everyone is as nice as they are . And I dont mean you Tristin Prettydude. I think tristin is a great singer and is going places. Just remember us for your big tour Tristin!
